Five friends. One beach. One leap.
hybeks began with nightly conversations on a Valsad beach — and a holiday we traded for the world's biggest trade fairs. Everything we make carries that leap.

Buy a cheap backpack every year and you spend more in five years than one good bag costs once — and you carry the worry the whole time. A zip that jams on exam morning. A strap that snaps on a railway bridge. A shell that soaks through in the first June rain.
hybeks took shape on the floors of the world's biggest trade fairs — meeting makers, touching materials, comparing craft — and became a small catalogue of essentials where every known failure is engineered out, then checked batch by batch before shipping.
Water-repellent means water-repellent — every claim on this site is one we can stand behind, plain and simple.
No twenty variants. A tote, a backpack, a sling, a kit — each refined every season.
The price you see is the price you pay — free shipping, COD and EMI included, no surprises at checkout.
A manufacturing fault in the first year means a free replacement — one photo on WhatsApp, no drama.
Five friends since high school meet at the beach after work, night after night — talking through a life on our own terms, something of our own.
A lakh per person, saved for Laos, goes to the world's biggest trade fairs instead. We walk factory floors, meet makers — and come home with a purpose, not souvenirs.
Our fathers' first letters, shaped into one lowercase word. Twenty-three concepts and two rounds later, the waves and sun of Valsad become our mark.
hybeks begins — early mornings, late nights, weekends, five obsessions deep. The first launch plan doesn't survive reality, so we rethink it until every piece is worth arguing over.
A name we created, not discovered. Five letters carry the first letters of our fathers' names — family, trust and the values that raised us, every time we say it. Always lowercase, because no single letter should stand taller than the rest. And the e, hidden in plain sight, stands for essentials — a quiet nod to our parent company, Maitrak Essentials, and to what we're really building.
Our icon carries the place where it all began. The lines are the waves; the circle is the sun. Every hybeks product carries a small piece of that beach in Valsad — the evenings, the conversations, the leap. Getting there took twenty-three concepts, two rounds, and five founders' worth of opinions — debates that were never conflict, only ownership.
Five friends from Valsad, one cancelled vacation, and a name made from the people who raised us — told the way it happened.
"We weren't coming home with souvenirs. We were coming home with a purpose."
We grew up in Valsad, a small coastal town in Gujarat. Five of us — friends since high school — with different jobs, different lives, and one shared habit: almost every night, after work, we'd meet at the beach. It was where we slowed down. Where we talked about everything. Where, without realising it, we were building something long before we had a name for it.
The conversations were always the same at their core — a life on our own terms, something of our own. We knew it would take courage, calculated risks, and the willingness to think differently. What we didn't know was that it would begin with a cancelled vacation.
The plan was simple: a group holiday. About a lakh per person, destination Laos, everyone in. Then one of us asked a different question:
"What if we spent this money on a different kind of trip? Let's go where the world's best products are made — walk the biggest trade fairs on earth, meet the manufacturers behind the brands we admire. If we find an opportunity, it could change our future. If we don't — it'll still be an unforgettable trip."
Everyone said yes. We traded the beach holiday for factory floors and exhibition halls — days of meeting makers, touching materials, comparing craft. And somewhere between all those conversations it became clear: we weren't coming home with souvenirs. We were coming home with a purpose.
The name had to be ours — not a dictionary word, not a trend we'd outgrow. We tried everything, including our own initials, and nothing felt right. Then came a simpler idea: instead of our names, our fathers'. We took the first letter of each of our fathers' names and shaped them, carefully, into a single word: hybeks. A name that carries family, trust, and the values that raised us — every time we say it.
Why it's always lowercase, and what the e quietly stands for — that story lives in the marks, just above.
Twenty-three logo concepts across two rounds, weeks of staring, and more debate than we'd like to admit. Five founders means five opinions on everything — the colour, the typeface, the smallest details. Those debates were never conflict. They were ownership. What survived them all: lines for the waves, a circle for the sun — the beach at Valsad, distilled into a mark every hybeks product carries.
hybeks began in 2025 — not as anyone's day job, but as everyone's obsession. Early mornings, late nights, weekends. Each of us brought what we knew best:
The road wasn't smooth. Our first plan didn't survive contact with reality, and we had to rethink our entire launch. Every extra sample, every revision took longer than we hoped. But that patience is exactly what defines a hybeks product today — we don't ship anything we haven't argued over, refined, and fallen in love with.
Honestly? We don't think the brands before us got it wrong — many of them built great products. For us, bags are simply the beginning. hybeks is for every hustler: people who wake up with dreams to chase and goals to meet. If something we've made saves you time or quietly solves a small problem, it's doing exactly what it was created to do.
We're not building a bag brand. We're building an essentials brand — one that grows alongside the people who carry it.
Five friends. One beach. A name made from the people who raised us. This is hybeks.
"We'd rather sell you one bag in five years than five bags in one."
